Key Takeaways
- Next month, Microsoft will launch Copilot Studio, a tool for developing self-governing AI bots.
- Ten additional Dynamics 365 agents are being added to enhance customer support and supply chain operations.
- The announcement increases competition in the industry as Salesforce prepares to introduce its Agentforce AI technology.
Next month, Microsoft will make Copilot Studio publicly available, allowing users to construct self-governing AI agents and adding ten more agents for Dynamics 365.
Microsoft introduced Copilot Studio’s new features earlier this year, including the ability to create autonomous agents. Customers will be able to use AI to improve business operations when these are made publically available in preview form next month.
AI helpers known as Copilot Agents automate administrative tasks for websites, folders, or libraries. These autonomous agents that require minimal human involvement are referred to by the company as “apps for an AI-powered world.” They can interact with Microsoft 365 Copilot, assist sales and customer service tasks, and be setup in Copilot Studio.
Microsoft Has Released Ten New AI Agents for Usage
For its Dynamics 365 business apps—solutions that autonomously handle supply chain, costs, and customer interactions—Microsoft is launching 10 new ready-to-use agents.
To help customer care teams deal with large call volumes and staff shortages, one example is the customer intent and customer knowledge management agents. By assessing and resolving problems and independently producing knowledge-based articles to advance best practices, they assist customer service agents.
For instance, the top pet care provider in the UK, Pets at Home, created an agent for its team responsible for profit protection. Microsoft claims that this agent might save millions of dollars a year by expediting the assembly of cases for human assessment.
With the goal of giving companies a “competitive advantage,” the software company plans to develop more agents later this year.
Microsoft Steps Up AI Despite Increasing Competition
As the rivalry in the quickly expanding AI industry heats up, Microsoft is focusing more on AI agents.
The promise of autonomous AI agents has also been emphasized by other significant tech companies, such as Salesforce, which analysts think might help businesses make money off of their AI investments.
Just before Salesforce introduces its rival Agentforce AI technology for sales and support on October 25, Microsoft makes their announcement on October 21 during its “AI Tour” in London.
