Key Takeaways
- Lucid’s Gravity SUV is now available for purchase.
- The vehicle is being prepped for manufacturing at Lucid’s new plant in Arizona.
- As the business gets ready to release its earnings tonight, the news breaks.
Lucid’s Gravity Grand Touring SUV, which starts at $94,900, is currently available for purchase in the US. The Grand Touring model will go into production in late 2024, while the more reasonably priced $79,900 Touring will go into production in “late 2025.”
Peter Rawlinson, CEO of Lucid, asserts that the gravity is “the most sustainable vehicle in its class.” With a predicted range of more than 440 miles, the Gravity SUV can accommodate up to seven adults. Additionally, it is Lucid’s first EV with a native NACS port, allowing you to use Tesla’s network of Superchargers for road trips without the need for an adaptor.
Six colors are available for the Grand Touring, including the Aurora Green Metallic launch color. The “Design Yours” configurator on Lucid’s website allows potential customers to view all of the standard and optional packages that are offered.
Lucid has used high-quality, ecological materials to create five different interior themes inspired by the Californian scenery. Among these is Mojave Purluxe, which draws inspiration from the Mojave Desert and has seats covered in Purluxe, a bio-PVC derived from soy waste.
Lucid’s Gravity Provides Navigation in Augmented Reality
Additionally, DreamDrive, Lucid’s cutting-edge driving assistance technology, comes in three levels for buyers to select from. The top tier offers traffic light detection, automated lane changes, and hands-free driver assistance.
The Technology Package is an optional feature that includes 120V power outlets all over the car, which are excellent for charging phones and tablets for lengthy road trips and family vacations, and Lucid’s augmented reality head-up display, which projects navigation information in the driver’s field of sight.
Lucid gave no information about any incentives or discounts. At its introduction in 2021, the company offered a $7,500 discount on its Air car, but it doesn’t appear that the Gravity will be eligible for anything comparable.
Pricing, ordering, and delivery details for markets outside of the United States will be provided later. The Gravity’s introduction marks a significant turning point for Lucid as it gets ready to begin selling EVs in a significant market niche, albeit with a luxury SUV and corresponding price tag.
