Users of the Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra report an incessant reboot loop with the One UI 6.1 update

Some customers who called the Samsung service center reported that they had to pay out of pocket for the business to replace the motherboard in order to resolve the issue.

Samsung’s Galaxy S22 series smartphones are still considered to be among the greatest smartphones ever made, three years after their release. But now, a number of customers are complaining that their phones have begun boot looping at random, which is a problem that results in handsets rebooting incessantly.

A growing number of Galaxy S22 Ultra (review) owners have expressed their worries about the boot loop problem on social media sites like X, Facebook, Reddit, and the official Samsung forum in recent weeks.

Others claim that their phones are locked in an infinite reboot cycle, making it impossible to use them, while others complain about their smartphones stuttering, occasionally crashing, and freezing. The One UI 6.1 upgrade, which was released in September of last year, appears to have been the cause of the problem.

Sammobile recently reported that some customers went to the Samsung service facility and were informed that the issue was caused by a defective or damaged motherboard. However, because the Galaxy S22 Ultra is no longer covered under warranty, customers had to pay a hefty price to have their phones fixed.

Some customers found that placing their phones in the freezer for a short while resolved the problem, but that as soon as the phone heated up again, it entered a boot loop. We do not advise doing so, though, as it could harm the internal parts of the phone.

In brief, this is not the first time that owners of the Samsung Galaxy S22 series have encountered this problem. Samsung had to briefly pause the deployment of the One UI 6.1 upgrade last year after a number of consumers complained that their smartphones were not booting or unlocking.

We may have to wait a long time to find out the reason for the Galaxy S22 Ultra boot loop issue, as Samsung has not yet formally acknowledged or commented on it.
